Polymer clay (Fimo) bracelets
If you have visited my stall at any of the many craft fairs I attend, you may have come across these bracelets. A simple fun design made with complex canes of polymer clay (Fimo).
I make canes (or snakes) like a stick of seaside rock. The design goes all the way through, so that when the cane is sliced it shows the design inside. The beads are slices of the canes on a waxed cotton cord, then oven baked. As with my dichroic glass jewellery, the designs are unique and I can only make a few bracelets out of each cane. They are impossible to re-create.
I would like to thank Birdy Heywood for teaching me the bracelet design, which has enabled me to include them here. Birdy is a very talented lady!
The technique of cane making is used by glass artists, including myself, to make repeating patterns in glass. Coloured molten glass is layered, stretched into a rod, cooled and sliced to reveal the repeating pattern. I hope to be adding some jewellery which will include my glass cane designs, to this site very soon.

To shorten the bracelet put the loop over the toggle and the next bead.

As a guide to work out what size you need, measure your wrist and add approximately 20mm (3/4”). This will give you a close fit. A larger bracelet will still fit if you put the loop over the next bead as well.
